editing pricing guide

Editing is a slow and meticulous discipline. We work through every script at least twice to ensure a professional result. For each script we will provide you with an amended version as a tracked Word document, a clean copy for easy reading and a covering note explaining our reasoning for substantive changes.

We can also produce the amended script as a PDF with design elements and appropriate layout ready for online or print publishing. Please ask us to quote at the time.

Please note that, although we do our best to pick them up, we cannot be held responsible for any inherent errors of fact or figure, misuse of borrowed material eg, copyright or other matters outside our control, which appear in your original script.

What it will cost

We will ensure correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency of terminology and we will also take account of house styles. We will further address content issues, such as construction, flow, presentation and style. Where necessary, rewriting will be suggested and/or implemented. In the case where substantial rewriting is necessary, the amended script will be returned to you for clearance before we edit for grammar etc.

The price range for our editing services is £60 to £120 per 1000 words.

The final quote for an individual piece of work will take account of complexity and requested turnaround time. For projects of unusual complexity, the price will be decided following detailed discussion with the client. These prices are exclusive of VAT.
